motivation 101
17.6.13
It all started from a text..

Me: "ooft you were in all rounders?!?!?!"
Bro: "u seem surprised"
Me: "i swear i never saw you study"
Bro: "How else does one get greater than 99! You can't get there with just being good at one thing. What a cool bro u have haha"
Me: "I must be adopted sigh"

He then proceeded to give me a call

His HSC story:
  • He fucked up his trials (didn't study properly), and apparently he was 112th for maths (he doesn't remember much) and the rest of her subjects weren't that great either aka pree shit
  • Went to the principal for his interviews, and the principal asked: "What do you want to study in the future?" Since my bro always had my mum and dad on his back nagging him to do med/law, he replied "Something like med or law". The principal then proceeds, "You? With these marks?"
  • Bro leaves the room pissed and determined to prove him wrong
Since that interview
  • He dropped French despite coming 2nd and English Extension as he knew that he was definitely going to get over 90 for the next advanced English assessment
  • So he was left with 4U maths, 3U Chinese, Economics and Advanced English
  • Went all out until the next assessment, 94 for 4U maths (ranked 6th after coming from 100th+) 91 for English, 98 for Chinese, 95 for economics
  • He got 99 for HSC Chinese and 98 for school, hence his final mark should have been 98.5 and rounded up to 99 but the teacher hated him so much (for not concentrating in class and shit) and his mark was influenced down to 98, and ranked 2nd in the state. He was so angry because he would have been first in the state
What I have learnt
  • He only had one assessment block left to change everything (same with me except it's trials sigh, but it was  harder for him because they were assessments hence weighted less) and he started fresh, stepped back and worked out what he was doing wrong and proceeded to ace his exams
  • He even formed a charity group and participated in events (for his CV) during this period so idk how he manages all this greatness in one go
  • Aka it's not late for me to go all out
  • Pumped to turn tables around
It was funny because the first thing he said to me "you didn't know? that's the one where you had to go up for me to get my award and you even shook hands with Bob Carr" and I just sat there like OHHH THE PREMIER'S AWARD THAT WAS IT? Biggest facepalm in history

But yeah, now that I printed my timetable today (Miss Rose paid for my printing fees! I didn't know how to print it in colour for A3 so i wasted 40 cents then she helped me and told me that she would pay for me ehehe aka $1 so I was really grateful) but anyway yeah I'm going to try and follow this timetable and even my brother said the first 1-2 weeks is really hard but once you get used to it you'll do fine.
  • Also record what you have done so far
  • You will gradually catch up and realise the gaps you still need to fill
Going to make him proud!
