So recently I decided to throw myself back to the days where I listened to Japanese songs (as an act of procrastination as I dread the idea of studying for HSC so much) and I felt so fucking proud of myself when I actually understood the lyrics.- Why did I fall in love with you- DBSK
I was so overwhelmed with joy when I understood 90-95% of the lyrics and when Micky sang the part 'but you chose a different path' and I actually understood it 「でも君が選んだのは違う道」I was like to myself, "Holy shit Tina all your studies in Japanese have finally paid off" and basically it left me in a really happy mood for the remainder of the day - Guren - The GazettE
Most of you don't know but I had a J-rock phase in year 7-8 where I would listen to Alice Nine, The GazettE etc and one of the first songs I searched up was Guren and when I sang along (with the lyrics which I vaguely remember) AND UNDERSTOOD THE JAPANESE THAT CAME OUT I WAS SO GOD DAMN HAPPY. - You guys must be questioning my sanity (just like my mum has in the past few days because of my odd behaviour derived from HSC stressing) but seriously it feels like a major accomplishment compared to my knowledge in year 7 which was barely 'arigatou gozaimasu' and now I'm debating about social issues in japanese extension and listening to songs/dramas without subtitles and translations. I've come pretty far ^_________^
- Okay back to HSC
