Monday 24th February O-Week Day 1!

Woke up pretty damn early to line up for comm camp tickets but Jeff ended up being late n daht which meant that I could have slept for another solid 15-20 minutes sigh. Ended up waiting for around 2 hours and we finally got our forms (being the kid I was I ended up with a 'Child' form sigh).

  • Andrew in the ball pit trying to find that $100 card huehue
  • Me and my special nigga Brian taking a photo with the Pope, we even got two polaroids!
  • Freebie adventuring

  • One scoop of Passionflower wasn't enough, two did the job!
  • Joined the Japanese society with Brian and it was the most down syndrome society (freebie wise). The Taiwan soc full offered make up and Sasa vouchers whereas we only got this little tag and a gay card for joining the Japanese society... Apparently we either get discounts or extra noodles at this ramen place and that's it?!
  • Then we joined TeaSoc for shits and giggles and we had to try and guess 2/3 of the teas on display in order to get free tea. Thanks to the peach tea I bought at Happy Lemon 300 decades ago, I recognised the peach one (which does not smell like peach at all btw) The vanilla tea was pretty ezpz to guess because it looked like shards of vanilla bean itself. But yeah, failed the rest HAHA
  • Joined LoLsoc for shits and giggles again and dem shameful gazes from Dan LOL But it was pretty esh, got a massive poster and an ADC lanyard and wristband because you know, I totally play ADC.

  • While waiting for DZ and Andrew to join volleyball/baddie societies, mah m8 and I went badge making and I must saying I made a pretty qt doge badge.
  • Spun the Roundhouse wheel and I won free glasses while Brian got free chips (we swapped anyway). Dan ended up with a free Superdry shirt which ended up being the alcohol brand Superdry and not the one we all wished it to be. Andrew got a Corona hat?! It looked pretty hilarious on him
  • He also had three hickey like marks on his forehead... apparently the kid got bored the night before and used a suction thing on his head HAHA
  • Got a super nice grey O-week t-shirt?! It was free whenever you purchases a beer ($5.50) and I have been sleeping very comfortably in it ever since hehe
  • Wondered around a bit more, free snow cones and then lunch at Market City Poporo!

Do I look like doge yet? These qts make my life better huehue. Shirley waited with Samantha and holy shit it has been so long since I've seen her and she came with her boyfriend aww yeaaaa. Had a pretty fast lunch because I had to dog for tutor sigh.

Tuesday 25th O-week day 2!

Met up with Andrew and Kang and off to UNSW we went. I didn't know where my BSoc orientation thing was so they ended up help me find it and everything. It actually wasn't boring at all imo (well maybe the speech from the deputy guy did feel familiar, as if it was Mr Chapple talking during school assemblies) but otherwise the one hour flew by pretty quickly and then it was lunch time!

The lady in front of me had a bag with the word 'orgasm' written all around it..
  • Was meant to hang around with Andrew and David but then while walking in the quad all of their mates appeared at once (and I thought they were gonna hang with them for the whole day and being the sleepy kid and awkward turtle I was I dogged huehue). Turns out they weren't going to hang with them so I dogged for no reason crey
  • Me: "Is that ______?"
    Andrew: "Yeah"
Me: "Woah she looks so different from photos"
Andrew: "Yeah I don't think she's as hot as everyone says"
    HAHAHAHAHAHA
  • Waited 400 hours in the BSoc line with Jeff and Kelly just for a god damn sticker ffs

  • Melissa disappeared with her mate so Kelly, Jess and I went adventuring again. Spun the Roundhouse wheel three times and I got a Toohey's beer every single time. What is this alcoholic destined life? So basically three free beers summarised my entire day
  • Being the tired/sleepy kid I was I suggested to chill/laze around in the library because the heat outside was killing my skin cells and all the walking also took its toll on me
  • Kelly then had to leave for her bus and Jess and I decided to head to Max Brenner's and holy shit diabetes on a plate no joke. I'm usually not a chocolate-fan (I don't dislike it, I don't mind it either) but it was legit chocolate rain on a plate and I had no idea how Jess managed to eat her portion without downing any water. So yummy in my tummy though, because you know, f00dz is always good huehue

  • Met up with Andrew and Melissa at Roundhouse
  • Ended up giving my beer to Melissa because she definitely needed a drink... she ended up buying a Bondi wine cooler and more vodka shots and she couldn't stop peeing. Felt so useless when she poured her heart out. I mean in the end, it's all up to her to actually get over whatever she's feeling and as a friend we can only do so little to help them in the process.
  • Chilled until 6, hid Andrew's ticket and the kid freaked out for a bit huehue

Waiting-in-line-dinner

While walking the o-week stalls this random tall white guy stuck this on me and said "here, take this" fml. Actually called the number HAHA but he didn't pick up. Moments later he sent a text saying "Sorry I missed your call, I was driving haha". Sounds like a decent guy but yeah no end of cool story here.

The Roundhouse wheel chick gave me the wrong token thingy and gave me a Superdry shirt instead! Went to Unibar to collect it but they ran out so they gave me another "super nice grey o-week tshirt" but this time in large which means even more comfortable pyjamas! I've been having a very bad habit these days... legit walking around the house with oversized tshirts and no pants... but comfort though. Also met my mate Flash while waiting in line for the gig, it was a pretty hot day so I had no idea how he managed to last the night in that.

A DAY TO REMEMBER!
  • Ended up standing in the second row which was pretty damn good but during the last hour of the night we got pushed pretty far back (As shown in the photos)
  • I Killed the Prom King was up first and it was crazy because it was just hardcore jamming and the vocalist doing weird ass shit with his voice and for Andrew and I, all the songs sounded the same LOL
  • The Ghost Inside was up next and the pushing became more intense... couldn't even breathe no joke and whenever a draft came in everyone went on their tippy toes just to get that fresh breath of air because the body heat and sweat in the mosh pit was just insane
  • Finally when ADTR (A Day To Remember) was up the shoving went intense crazy... people tried to force their way through to the front and everything. Being the silly kid I am I didn't bring a hair tie and I think half the hair on my head was pulled out from all the people being cray cray LOL
  • Andrew and I kinda gave up and we went off to the side which didn't have a bad view either but ofc wasn't as great as the second row view... but that would mean more injuries, sweat and body heat.
  • The crowd surfing was also crazy, despite the signs saying 'NO CROWD SURFING'. Witnessed many heads getting smashed by dangling feet from crowd surfers (Andrew got hit by a leg at one point) and I felt pretty sorry for the security guards because they had to haul the crowd surfers and ensuring that they make it out safely. I mean, carrying 70-80kg of weight every 2 minutes is pretty damn intense.

Hehe how cool are we! $5 well spent (I actually really like this photo)
  • The only song I knew during the entire gig was one of the waiting songs HAHA and it was "When Angels Deserve to Die".  For some reason, "If I Lose Myself" by One Republic (completely irrelevant I know) decided to suddenly pop up in my mind... Like legit out of nowhere, during a screamo concert, that song decides to infiltrate my mind and lurk into my conscience. Basically had "If I lose myself tonight, it'll be you and I" stuck in my head all night long
  • The gig finished at midnight and Andrew and I got a bit lost trying to find our way out of UNSW LOL His voice ended up pretty dead because the kid went a bit crazy singing along with the songs and my shirt was drenched from other people's sweat and the water from the bottles which the security kept offering. Basically died from the cold wearing a wet shirt and intense air conditioning on the bus
  • Overall it was a very, very hectic experience. At first I did want to go for the experience (since Andrew kept saying "it'll be good! it'll be good!") and what an experience it was.. Never again though LOL The one song that really got to me was "If It Means Alot To You" and when everyone sang along to the chorus "la, la la la, la la la" it just felt right.. I can't find the words to describe the moment but it made feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
  • And now guess which song has been on repeat ever since then huehue

Darling Harbour at 1-2am = many couples sitting down enjoying the view.

Crashed at brother's place and then got kicked out when he left for work crey. Nigga doesn't trust me locking up his apartment so I ended up with minimal sleep again sigh

  • Got home, showered and headed off to city agains!
  • Andrew got tricked into a "med tour" which ended up being an entire campus tour so he couldn't make it for soju so instead Dan, Melissa and I spent the day chilling. I wanted Melissa to get her mind off things temporarily and just enjoy herself and I think I did an okay job :D
  • Met up with DZ at Tom n Toms and ordered my usual Chrysanthemum tea. Walks back to the table only to realise that he also ordered a Chrysanthemum tea huehue. Yes I like my chrysanthemum
  • Went to City Heroes to use the CueSoc $4 voucher and the entire hour was used to teach Melissa how to play since it was her first time. I must say but Dan did a pretty good job at teaching. I beasted my first two shots, got three balls in consecutively and at one point I was leading by 7 balls but for some reason (well apparently) I was pretty impatient(?) that day and my hits were too solid so I ended up missing most of my shots... which meant that Dan and Melissa caught up in no time. I still won though huehue
  • Deciding match round 3: I accidentally hit the black ball in fml

3 hour karaoke session as usual, sang until our throats died (turns out it was a throat infection for me though because the next day my throat was kinda on fire). Got home only to find Melissa still stressed as ever sigh and spent a solid 2 hours talking out with her. I knew how she felt... so clearly sigh. I felt the exact same way not even a week ago and to see someone else going through the same hell as I did was unbearable. So I gave it my all and tried my absolute hardest to be there for her. The world is a cruel, cruel place.

Also had a massive revelation with my nigga Luan. Seriously, I am thankful for everything that happened in my life so far, it has made my childhood, my childhood. I led a fulfilling life with so many experiences, I wouldn't swap it for any other person's life. I've lived the ultimate high school life - Jigging the majority of year 11 and 12, proving teachers wrong (gonna quote Luan here but I basically took a shit on Mr Edward's face), receiving acknowledgement from teachers who also looked down on me "You do quite well for a student who doesn't even come to class" and screwing around with education system. I've had my fair share of relationships and even though they all ended extremely differently and painfully, they all served as life experiences which I could only be grateful for. I've had relationships where they ended without even starting, relationships where naivety was the cause of destruction and relationships led on by infatuation and pity. I've had ups and downs with friends yet these ups and downs allowed me to realise who my friends actually were. I've been independent since 15 and hasn't asked mum for a single cent since year 8. I've been supporting the family financially, helping mum out like if I were a mature adult myself. Ever since Jervis Bay, my life has been anything but dramatic^dramatic, as if I'm living in a Korean drama right now. Yes, these events have caused a lot of frustration, tears, pain and questioning but in the end, despite all this fuckery, it's what makes my life an even more fulfilling one. I can now die knowing that I've lived an eventful life. Not bland or plain, but filled with perks.

Couldn't be more thankful.
