4 nights of swagger
5.4.14
To one of the most amazing weeks of 2013

Concluding HSC, a group of 9 decided to spend four nights at 'kawaii house' in Jervis Bay. The entire trip was rough at first because none of us were actually 18 during the time of booking and Luan would only turn 18 on the actual first day of our trip i.e. 17th November. The time spent on the BOS websites and writing notes for HSC was all spent on Jervis Bay Rentals and despite all the regret from poor time management, it was all worth it in the end. Memory is very rusty (considering the fact that it has been nearly 5 months since schoolies) but better late than never and better something than nothing!

Our group of 9 consisted of Luan, Leilei, Jeff, Anthony, Dz, Dlin, Marshall and Gordon.

Break stop from bus, not sure what Leilei and I were doing but from the looks of it we were enjoying ourselves. The guys decided to buy like 200 nuggets at Hungry Jack's and that's about all I remember. The shuttle took a lot longer than expected, we ended up getting to our destination around 5... and I was scared we would get there before 4pm and not be able to get into the house until then.

"THIS IS OUR HOUSE!!" From the looks of it we thought we were going to get the purple half but turns out we only got the top half of it instead. Looks small I know but it was still very spacious somehow.. It started to rain when we got out of the bus and we couldn't find the entrance to the house at first LOL all we knew was that we had to cross a 'small bridge' in order to find the entrance and turns out we had to enter from the back of the house. I remember 'woahing' when I first walked in, it looked pretty damn good. After settling in, the guys went to the beach (I think) for a while and us girls decided to sort a few things out... i.e. hiding their shoes, placing a fucked up sweet potato on the door mat and putting another sweet potato in Gordon's weed bag.

My feels omg, I miss walking down these stairs.

I think we broke the fridge in the first 30 minutes, took us another 30 years to realise that we could just attach the latch back on. It was also a very beautiful fridge because its contents were amazing. I think the majority of people spent the first five minutes taking photos of these beauties.

Cruisers are a necessity for chill times

Double blacks, we drank them like water. I don't think any of us actually drank water during the trip, I had tea in the morning from time to time but if we were all thirsty we'd grab a double black or a cruiser and that was our liquid intake for the entire 4 nights LOL I think we brought 30 of them? But yeah they disappeared quite fast.

The girls then decided to step out of the house... Leilei you beauty

The clouds were rolling in but despite the rainy weather, it still felt so good.

I wanted to go a bit further so I told Luan and Leilei to head back first and it was definitely worth it. I played Standing Egg when I walked across the sand and it felt so right, the music and the mood was perfect for each other. If it weren't for the rain I'd actually just sit there and watch the waves roll in, serenity at its maximum.

Foxy flo photography - Contemplative Tina: Jervis Bay Day 1. This was also Luan's lock screen wallpaper on her phone for a while and this is also why she is my top nigga, ily.

Night fell and my role as bartender began (and so did all the drunk fuckery and commotion i.e. happy times) Bitters extract, Smirnoff north, Sprite and a dash of lemon.

Many things happening in one photo- Marshall laughing, Leilei becoming a tomato from the drinks, me making food and Luan... I don't know. The guys chilled with Anthony's PS2, took 400 photos with my DSLR and soon the comforting, peaceful house became rowdy (a good rowdy though, I really enjoyed the atmosphere)

One of the many beautiful photos that were taken that night

Leilei tipsy ft Marshall

  • Leilei got so drunk, at one point in time she wrapped an orange towel around her and crawled across the floor... pretending to be a snail
  • Dinner was served for everyone first and then Luan and I waited for a bit for our own pizza and proceeded to eat it outside with Daniel Lin (I think). It was her birthday yet we talked about Jay and she ended up crying... The day she was meant to be happy chappy.... she cried. Shittest friend on earth/10
  • Then Marshall and stuff came along and we took 300 selfies and then I remember Jeff thinking I was fuqed so he kept trying to escort me to bed or something (even though I was pretty clear headed). Everyone ended up on the second floor in the girl's room and it was so lively LOL Gordon also fell off a wall? Like I don't know how to explain this or how to describe this but he fell off a wall... he should be the representative for Vans or something
  • We also got a few complaints from neighbouring residents LOL and one of them at one point threatened to come up or something and half of us nearly shat ourselves and ran to the door to lock it and everything HAHA
  • I don't remember how the night ended but it was pretty damn esh.
Actually I also remember walking tipsily down to the beach late at night with the Double D's (Daniel and Daniel), Leilei, Luan and Jeff. I thought Dz had left but turns out he spent the entire hour sitting in a tree and Jeff disappeared at some point in time, not sure when. Daniel Lin, Luan and I kept talking about primary and all the feels and memories while Leilei listened and talked about her feels whenever we were talking about something we could all relate to. Even though we stood on a massive rock which looked into the ocean for an entire hour straight, I didn't feel tired at all. It felt so good, I felt so happy, as if I was on top of the world. I could imagine myself standing with them all at that point in time- our arms were across on each other's shoulders or around each other's waist and we would just gently sway with the wind. It felt amazing.

Jeff and his mate, we got friendly-laughed at when people walked by haha. Ice cream in hot weather? F yeah!

I don't remember which day, but Luan, Dz and I decided to go for a calming stroll along the beach.

Will anyone ever know about the things that go on in this kid's head?

This beauty

Luan remember our beautiful panoramas

WE CLIMBED TO THE TOP! I'm usually very noob at rope climbing (simply because I can't climb ropes for shit and I get paranoid that I'll miss my step and come crashing down or something) but omg I did it like life complete I can now die with no regrets.

Meet Mr Snail, I think Anthony stepped and crushed him when he was taking out the garbage late at night. Woke up the next morning to find a crushed shell and slimy remains.

Puzzles, music and double blacks at 2am. Both Daniel's Luan and I were so intense about this, we actually legit tried to complete this but then we saw the scale (after an hour) and noticed that the parts we managed to complete were only 1/1000 of the actual puzzle as a whole. I think the rest chilled inside playing games or watching movies, I don't know, was too concentrated trying to piece the puzzle.

Candid shot, not sure what this kid is looking at.

I think this was Day 3, we decided to talk a longer-than-usual walk to a beach further away.

Asked someone to take a group photo for us, ended up taking 20 in one go on Luan's phone and turned out that at least 15 of them had his finger half covering the phone.

It was absolutely amazing.

We had to cross a raging river in order to get to the other side (where the beautiful beach was) and the current was so strong... so scared that we were all going to be washed out into the sea LOL With Dz's help we all managed with much screaming and swearing (or maybe that was just me)

~Shell collecting~ while the boys jumped in the waves lol

Burying Marshall Li

Hehe qts

Chilling on the deck with our 'cocktails'.

This was either after our pool visit by the sea or after the 'raging river for beautiful beach' adventure. During one of the days we all decided to visit another part of the bay but we had to swim across/around something in order to get to the other side and it was a bit risky so we all settled for the nearby pool instead. As usual playing 'jumping with the waves' happened and I managed to get a cut or two across my foot from walking back on the rocks omg this is why I hate the beach (sometimes). I swear you don't know what you're walking on and everything feels so weird under you foot.. maybe it's just the over-sensitive me talking.

Day 2 morning at 5-6am (I think it was Day 2...)

Dragged Jeff out for a stroll along the beach (really wanted to pull some professional photography shots, didn't turn out too well because there were so many dead birds on the shore and I spent the majority of my time dying internally... i.e. squealing, screaming, closing my eyes in fear, cringing every time I got close to one)

Panoramic shots are a necessity, credits to Mr Jeff Peng

Model in the making

These photos actually took many shots to get right (alignment of everything was hard to get right). In the end I was pretty happy with the results hehe everything's so pretty

Music was also played while walking along the shore

Thank you Jeff for this beautiful picture of a dead bird.

I think it was also this night where Leilei, Luan and both Daniel's decided to go trekking at 11pm to another beach. I've blogged about this before, the place where everything was so still... the water barely moved and the moon shone so bright in the sky. The ocean was endless, you couldn't see where it ended and it felt so perfect. We also stood there for an hour, looking into the darkness and no one will ever know the thoughts that were going through our mind at that instant. It felt scary too because the water was too still... the night also made everything eerie and mysterious. I don't know how to describe it, you have to be there to see it otherwise my words won't do its justice at describing the tranquility. I felt infinite.

However, the walk to the destination was pretty funny
  • I  got so scared on the way because of the dark and  at one point I said something along the lines of 'bzzz slgaksdgs static omg Slenderman'. Like legit someone could be hiding behind the trees and ready to pop out and just casually stab us or something... but yeah that was me overthinking (Clearly)
  • There was also a log on the beach but from afar it looked like a corpse and I nearly shat myself

Second last night- trying to find a perfect sunset viewing spot i.e. the roof.

Even though our view was cockblocked by houses and trees, it was still a pretty good experience.

Trying to work out how to work the BBQ. This night was pretty crazy, I ended up pretty damn tipsy (I wonder why lol, thanks guys) and I became a depressed drunk. Thank god the three people there was just Anthony and the Double D's. Leilei ended up super tipsy as usual, nearly tried to jump off the balcony... Marshall and Gordon kept trying to calm her down? At moments in time she would charge out of her room and into the living room like an earthquake, you would just hear loud thuds and everything and BOOM you'll see a Leilei charging at you. I think she stacked it down the stairs at one point and that was also extremely scary. The fly screen also broke... Luan, Leilei and Jeff ended up having an intense dnm session upstairs and after 2-3 hours everyone gathered by the couch (with takoyaki) and story time began. I remember Gordon talking about Mandingo and his 15 inch dick or something and yeah it was all a haze but I remember laughing my ass off most of the time. Ended up sleeping downstairs with Dz LOL

Last night of our stay- sparklers and lights by the beach (2NE1 style as Luan and I would say). Earlier during the day we all tried to rent bicycles but by the time we got there all the stores were closed so we ended up feasting on pasta bake, sweet potato and either a final destination or SAW marathon.

The background drop of our midnight highs

We tried to get shots with the sparklers

Which clearly didn't work out too well

Gordon also died early so he couldn't make it to our fun times by the beach

But overall everything was pretty fucking amazing.

  • Since it was our last night, it basically meant acts of YOLO
  • i.e. eating everything in the fridge, cooking it all and feasting at 2am
  • Not sure how we had so much food left... or how we didn't have enough food over the four days...

Time to leave

Trying to find the bus stop but came across another potential visit spot

A long bus ride and a train change later...

  • We played Jenga at one point and the loser had to have a One Direction tattoo tattooed on their forehead. I lost on my first move and I had Harry Styles on my face for a while
  • When Gordon was sleeping we left him with a beautiful present (two 1D tattoos across his arm). Even during the last day he still had it on his arm... does this kid not shower properly or something
  • Mafia was also played- it was pretty funny because I made Gordon the prostitute 80% of the time
  • The boys had their 'sessions'
  • On the last night we found a cot in the wardrobe, assembled it and became someone's bed. Ate breakfast in it in the morning and it was actually pretty damn comfortable.

So Leilei had her time of the month and I don't know why the pad-posing-photo happened but it did.

Day 1 fuckery. Leilei being extreme tomato, luvos with Marshall and Luan on the balcony, being suffocated by Jeff, Gordon "falling off the wall", my head dangerously close to Marshall's crotch, Gordon and I dead on the bed, bartender of the year and selfies during dinner time with Marshall... why is there toilet paper on the bench top.

Definitely going back, it was definitely one of the good times in life. Good being an understatement. Just blogging about this gives me so many feels, I can't deal with them anymore. Even though going back is a definite, it's a shame that we can't recreate these exact memories again, they were filled with laughter,  happiness and at some point, it felt like I was living by 'carpe diem'. Yes there were downs, i.e. not enough food, surviving like African children with all the rations and the intense grocery and alcohol carrying to the holiday house BUT IT WAS ALL WORTH IT. I LOVE YOU ALL, THANK YOU FOR THIS ABSOLUTELY FUN-FUCKING-TASTICAL LIFETIME EXPERIENCE.

所以在我眼里,下了一场大雨。
