Saturday 24th May - After what seemed to be quite a shit night, I left The Star and headed back home for a much needed shower. Ventured out to Circular Quay with my boy  for a 10:30am ferry to Cockatoo Island for the 19th Biennale of Sydney. Since Dan and I are high rollers n daht, we splurged $4 on a bottle of Mount Franklin water.. it wasn't even from the fridge?! Like wtf that shit is usually like $1 or $2 so unless we bought holy water then $3.95 is ridiculous for 600mL of water.  And since when was Biennale pronounced as bee-eh-nah-lee? I guess we learn something new everyday.

Blessed with fine weather hehe

Arrived at our destination!
The ferry to Cockatoo Island was quite amusing because the captain of the boat kept talking through the intercom (informing us about the history and past of Cockatoo Island). One thing I remember quite clearly was that Cockatoo Island basically housed convicts and no one made it out alive.. or something like that. My camera lens is also extremely dirty (since Kizuna) which is why in some photos, or most of them, you'll find a dot on the upper right hand corner crey.

This was actually pretty cool because it was basically a projection of a girl pushing the light back and forth

Maison, 2012

One of the most fucked up animations I have ever watched, nearly shat myself in the dark. This was basically in a location of an abandoned and soon-to-be-demolished house and Maison is a constant cannibalisation of the house, by the house. In the end it became pretty disturbing and that meant heading towards the exit (the pitch black room didn't help either)

Imagination station!

This was one of my favourites out of the fifty thousand drawings that were stuck on the windows.

Dragging along Daniel because he's an 8 year old lostie. Loljokes we were trying to imitate a photo set that I came across online and yeah I think we failed LOL (we're actually doing everything completely wrong in this photo)

Dan also grew a tail, watch out guys!

Massive Google billboard which turned out to be a train stop? Would've waited in line for this train but that would've taken us to the other side of the island (which we had already been to) and trekking back in heels was definitely the last thing I wanted to do.

Couldn't find a decent shot of the waterfall up close so I guess this photo is going to have to do.

These houses had faces on them! Took me a while to realise and as usual Dan probably thought I was a derp for taking so long to notice this. This Asian lady was taking a tourist photo outside one of the houses but she took forever fml #major cockblock

This wall was actually made out of fabric and it immediately reminded me of the time where I tried to punch the wall outside the Westfield in Town Hall. The wall had a woolly patterning and I thought that it would've also been soft to touch but bam my knuckles met a solid brick wall. But yeah, this was basically reversed - the seemingly 'brick wall' turned out to be soft fabric instead.

Light sabers hanging from the ceiling?!

There was also a gym... a very creative gym. You basically had to try out each piece of equipment in order to find out what kind of reaction it would cause (I clearly can't English at 4 in the morning so I'm sorry if my explanations make no sense at all.) But yeah, a dancing skeleton was one of them.

No idea what this is but it was pretty fucking awesome.

A head getting pulled out from a barrel of 'toxic waste' was also another 'reaction'? Shat myself when I suddenly saw this head come out of nowhere.

This massive rock was also dangling from the ceiling.

As Dan likes to call it, the 'Rape Tunnel'.

We overdressed for the Biennale sigh... only because we wanted to be fancy for the night so we came in a semi-formal attire and yeah, families were in shorts and thongs. This kid brought a bag just for a jacket LOL this was later dumped at my place as I had an emergency return to change shoes (walking in heels for 2-3 hours took its toll on me)

We decided to sit outside on the deck of the ferry because the weather was so damn fine and I wanted to take a few tourist shots. In return, we were welcomed with friendly fire from the ocean breezes which would've been mistaken as rain any other day LOL Dan became a human shield and alighted the ferry half drenched c:

The iconic Sydney Opera House

In the morning, there was a street artist working on pastel art but since our ferry came in 5 minutes, I wasn't able to get a shot of this. Three hours later, the man was still there. 'What happens if it rains?' Yeah LOL no please don't say that I would actually cry for the guy if it started to downpour. Thank God he chose the right day to showcase his talents otherwise all that hard work would have been gone in an instant.

Looking at this felt awfully familiar. Took me a minute or two to realise that I've actually seen this guy (PEPEGAKA) around several times and I actually threw change down Wally's mouth before hehe

Some people are clearly more artistically talented than others.

PEPEGAKA - The man himself with a rice patty hat

Asswipe sitting on a metal pole

Churros! Putting entertainment vouchers to good use again hehe. Our plan for the day was to watch Godzilla at IMAX after the Biennale but that didn't happen because it was a 'no free list' movie (I had one free admission) Instead we sat by the harbour and brainstormed what to do next.

Changing the Harbourside boardwalk was also a stupid idea because the wooden planks now only highlight seagull poo and I've lost count of how many times I've left this place with splinters all over my jeans. It also does a bad job absorbing the seagull poo which in return limits the seating capacity and availability.

We decided on karaoke at Mizuya (it has been a while). Lemon lime bitters is always an essential. Oh and, the ATM ate (retained) my card. I have been surviving the past 2-3 days without a card and limited cash, do I get a medal or...? Came home to an ANZ letter sitting on the kitchen bench top so good bye hell, hello consumerism.

Mentaiko fries! I like the fact that we both ordered this for the sauce and not the fries itself.

Takoyaki

Kenjin are you mirin this quality yet (dat closeup doe)

You can never go wrong with blow torched scallops on sushi

Or cheesy scallops i.e. heaven

I have been craving this for the longest time (sweet egg). Yes, I could make it at home myself but these days I have been working my ass off and my poor time management skills = no time to do anything. After Mizuya we had a hardcore session at Timezone (load $20 get $20 free, bless entertainment vouchers) which consisted of shooting basketballs, intense air hockey with the puck flying out every second hit and tests of luck (we weren't very lucky LOL) Then we decided to check the movie times at Event cinemas but that ended up as standing around and realising that I have been getting all my superheroes wrong (it was pretty embarrassing T-T)

Vivid! Being the tired bums we are, trekking it back to Circular Quay was a no no (nicer lights). We settled for the water show by the Harbour and tbh it wasn't great at all. Definitely going back again to see the rest of the lights loljokes finals and poor time management = no time. I think this equation sums up my life.

Overall it was a pretty hectic and amazing day, does life get any better than this?
