birthday delays
2.7.14

Despite the fact that my birthday was nearly a month ago (more like three weeks), I still wanted to do a mini celebration with the close ones around me so this happened. Even though things didn't go as planned, it was still a pretty enjoyable night with all the screaming, eating and catching up. Met Andrew at 3 since he had time to spare after his volleyball coaching and challenged him to a 1v1 at pool and yes I lost... but I did end up with some crazy shots. One ball sunk but I hit it too hard to the extent that it flew out of the hole and out onto the floor. Andrew also sent 300 balls flying off the table and across the room. Fun times, fun times.

Meet up time was 5:30 and as expected, there were latecomers. Wanted to have dinner at Soda Factory (for the atmosphere and dollar hot dogs) but Leilei was still 17 and we were denied entry sigh :( Trekked it around back to Central, overheard some weird conversations (Leilei and Kenjin LOL) and then decided to feast at Kura Kura.

Mr Andrew Lam sipping on water and Jeff looking elegant as he chooses his meal LOL

Kenichi Sashimi san with his new haircut + taking photos of food.. on my phone?!

Andrew's udon! MSG is always yum yum and this one was definitely yum yum

Jeff's karaage udon. It was pretty funny at first because Lulu/Dan was asking the waiter if they accepted card but his English wasn't that great so they asked me to ask him if they accepted card. My first try was "do you take card" and they all facepalmed as they wanted me to say it in Japanese as that was their question for the past 5 minutes LOL Ended up saying "ka-do wo shite mo ii desu ka" AND NIGGA UNDERSTAND ME FUCK YES THANK GOD FOR JAPANESE CONTINUERS. But yeah not sure how I'm going to survive in Japan for three weeks at this rate.

And this is Jeff's karaage. We all wanted to order our food with weird white accents when pronouncing it in Japanese but too bad it was self-order from an iPad. Karaage became ka-rage, udon become you-don, ramen became ray-men and god knows what other word we screwed over.

Kenjin's blue-lemonade-with-a-popsicle-drink

My favourites hehe

Leilei's mini udon

My favourites II

Favourites III

I have craved this for the past three year but they no longer served it at Kura III (menu changes) so when I realised that Kura II still had this, I HAD TO ORDER IT. Tempura calamari at its best

Kenjin's hand roll, not even sure what it is but I see eel and avocado so I'm going to assume it's an eel and avocado hand roll... Since when were hand rolls so fancy

My okonomiyaki which I rationed as Andrew was still a hungry kid, Dan because we agreed to share and Kenjin because I was very full.

Dan's creamy udon which we both thought was a good idea to order

Lulu's karaage don! We both ordered the kids meal set B but the waitress came back ten minutes later and basically rejected our order zzz... had to compromise and settle for something else

Karaoke time at MUSE! Did a few Jay Chou songs with Kenjin and we basically screamed out half of it and everyone had to cover their ears because microphones were much loud and our shrieks were ear piercing. It was very fun though hehe no regrets

He had many stoner shots, this was one of the better ones (because his face isn't in it hehe) Melissa then finished work and joined us at 8, I think she judged Kenjin and I's singing LOL You had to be there to actually understand the insanity that was raging on

How awesome are my numbers hehe

Played a few dice games, only lost once because Kenjin said some crazy number like 9 2's or someshit and I was like wtf bullshit I don't even have a two and turns out he had like 50 1's and 50 2's which made it possible. Since we were denied our jugs of mixed spirits (Leilei be underage) we had to compromise i.e. massive bottle of green tea + no peeing until after the karaoke session.

Mel & Andrewaaaa

Jeff and Kenjin had to leave early because their parents weren't too happy, Leilei had to leave for clinical placement the morning after but soju drinking at Kobow still happened with the rest of my lovelies. I hadn't been to Kobow since the Valentine's single gathering earlier in February and I was still sick in the stomach after the incident where I took a massive gulp of vodka instead of water (I was so thirsty in the fucking morning because I died from alcohol) so I was a bit hesitant about taking shots. It happened anyway.

My babies hehehehe (Lulu next lifetime I promise, we will conquer the world of CC's and rule a kingdom where we are the cutest. I hope our kids will never see this LOL)

$9 because we high rollers (only cos $6 ended at like 9pm or someshit freakin' faggots)

Obligatory jajangmyun!

You can never take good photos of seafood pancakes, I don't know why.

Not too sure about the others but despite it being a short and unexpected night, spending time with everyone was extremely enjoyable for me. I think this is the point in life where I realised that these people are the ones that are closest to me and all I need. I really am blessed to have met all of you guys and I really, really, really hope that even ten years down the track, we'll still be this close. Ahhh, my feels.
