Louis de Bernières, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin

Early morning trek to Hurstville and as a result, secured a table closest to the powerpoints. Kenjin arrived late as usual but he's just one of those friends who over time, you give up on. Drama happened within the early hours of the library - A teenager wailing, shouting and refusing to get up from the library floors. Asian murmurs concluded that she had mental problems, Kenjin jokingly blamed it on HSC.
"It's a clip!"

Dan had lectures till 11 then made his way back with a mission - to buy pads and Nurofen Zavance. Had a dream that 'it was the time of the month' nek morning period actually comes. Not sure if boyfriend material or boyfriend material but he actually got it for me hehe. Kenjin ate the majority of my snacks, Miss Saigon for lunch (and for the MSG) and tutoring Neo for the last time at 4.
It actually becomes quite hard to leave a kid after being with them for so long. I didn't know how to tell him that I would no longer be able to teach him anymore, I guess ignorance really is bliss. Neo is actually very smart for his age - I know primary kids from LG who are 2-3 years above Neo who can't even remember their 4, 5 or 6 timetables. Then there's this kid who knows 1-12 and actually enjoys learning. He plays the guitar, knows his way around an abacus and is learning Chinese. The cute button even spoilt me with a $50 Westfield gift card for my birthday... yet even my last treat I brought for him, he could not eat because it contained gelatine.
I will definitely miss the final minutes of the lesson where his baby brother would come storming in, tugging at my leg for a seat in my lap. The way they would both charge at the door when they know I'm here, the way his brother would stick to the door with teary eyes as I leave and the way Neo would run to his bedroom, wave good bye from behind the window and then close the shutters.
The baby brother also cried more than usual today.
It definitely was a delight teaching him.
