After a long hard day of work, Dan and I decided to celebrate our one-day-belated monthiversary by going to Burberry and buying our long awaited trench coats. After countless attempts at trying to find the right size, Dan decided to settle with the Kensington. Then we got cockblocked because of the $1000 limit on debit cards... so we didn't end up buying them sigh.
Dinner at Thai Foon then happened, we were all so amazed by the glasses (which became quite annoying at one point in time). Imagine being tipsy and trying to drink from one of these glasses, it'd be so trippy. Crinitis had a 1.5 hour wait and after 5 minutes of standing in the middle of the shopping centre trying to decide on what to eat, we decided to settle for something that was moderately priced and close by.
Ended up ordering a chicken laksa, chicken pad thai and chicken pad see ew (aka the three favourites ♡)
Tristan had nothing to do that night so he decided to come along and join the fun hehe
His pad see ew (which was very yummy). Tristan's actual dish was probably much healthier because I kept giving all the vegetables to him. Yes I do eat vegetables, I just wasn't in the mood zzz
Due to poor lighting, these photos' brightness were increased by 200% and then it just looked like crap so they were not worthy of being posted individually zzz. Not sure if ~$20 per dish was worth it (probably just for the view really) but food was quite tasty so no regrets!
We had Santa's booty for a view.
Throughout the dinner, we had heated debates about what being "independent" truly meant and it was a solid 10-15 minutes of Dan and Tristan going back and forth on what they think it means to be independent. Even though Tristan gets his money from his parents (because, quote Tristan, "they're loaded") he thinks that travelling by himself for exchange is considered as being independent. On the other hand, Dan thinks that independent means raising your own money etc; and supporting yourself and so on. Very diluted summary of their conversation so I think I may even be wrong when I recount this oops
Oh and it was Saturday night so fireworks happened!
Since we arrived around 8:00pm, we had to stall as long as possible until 9pm just so we could still have our harbourside seats at Thai Foon. Tristan managed to drag our meal out until 8:50pm and then 10 minutes of small talk later, sparks flew.
The night was still young (and having prepared for San Churros beforehand, aka bringing the entertainment voucher for buy one get one free) we headed for dessert! The line was agonizingly long but we got an okay seat (hooray for sofas!) so it was all worth. A girl on the opposite table also asked if she could take a photo of my Michael Kors bag which was a first. Apparently her aunt's in Hong Kong and she wanted her to bring something back for her and I guess my bag is now also on the hitlist.
Not sure how many rounds of big 2 we played but Tristan lost them all sigh
Qt with a dimple hehe
We then played Dan's psychological card game and being sleepy af, I literally couldn't concentrate throughout the whole game.. but I ended up winning all 3 so yay! There was this one round where I screwed up so hard, I did not know why the two boys were playing such big cards (or betting big for those who haven't played before) and then I realised that instead of betting for the one card, there were 3 at stake. But I ended up winning anyway hehe. Also had no idea how many times I nearly peed myself from all the suspense and tension
Night ended until San Churros started to close - was a lot of fun, felt like I was on cloud 9 ♡
The guy at Burberry (who served us our visit before) held our trench coats for us until Monday night but after solving the debit card limit (decided to use 28 degrees credit card), we went back on Sunday afternoon. Dan was also scared that if he went home on a train with a massive Burberry bag, he'd get robbed (the possibility) and he didn't want to risk anything so we went a day earlier where he had the car for the weekend.
Turns out the $1000 limit on the debit card is solved by pressing Credit instead of Savings when processing the transaction. And for the third time, the same guy served us. I felt so bad for him because our previous 2 visits were him running up and down to find the right size and style for Dan and we didn't even end up buying anything. Even so, he was still very friendly towards us :)

Bank account is now in eternal pain but it had to happen sooner or later (before Japan). Heritage is never on sale so the only discounts we can get is from tax refunds at the airport when travelling overseas. Shame it's not winter at the moment so there's no actual opportunity to wear this outside. On the bright side, our 3 week stay in Japan will be during winter and Dan's already determined to wear his trench for the 2 weeks out of the 3.
