December 24th
Don't read if you're hungry?
Bought breakfast for mum and myself - the morning of Christmas eve was spent pulling out plants, grass and small trees. Pulling out plants requires much more effort than it sounds, it was so tiring to the extent that my fingernails were aching.
2 hours later
Not sure how many creepy crawlies I encountered and all the tiny green spiders which crawled across my tracksuits but I felt invincible after the two hours LOL JOKES will always crouch in fear of bugs. But yeah, some of the bugs were just so disgusting to watch, crawling in and out of holes in the ground. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss (you rather not see the insects near you than forever be paranoid of them crawling on to you/thinking about what other monstrosity lies ahead)
The view from the pent house wasn't bad... who am I kidding, it was amazing
Not sure if working in the sun was worth it though
Wouldn't mind having this as a part of my future house
Yes, there's an elevator in the house (even though it's only two floors)
Headed back home around 2 and had a good feast to replenish all the energy consumed in the morning. Lazed around on the sofa and watched a few videos, only to forget that I hadn't prepared presents and Mary was also going to be at the dinner (hence Christmas presents must be gifted)
Wrapping up two bottles of Victoria's Secret's body mists was a very hard job. Gave my brother a chocolate penguin and a $1 coin (totalling to $3) because he is the sibling who has always been 100x better so I was expecting a present which was also 100 times better in quality and value i.e. $300 hehe. (Hinted that I wanted a 3DS XL before but I guess the one day notice wasn't enough sigh)
Table decor
Pumpkin and zucchini roast
Christmas roast!
A flask of wine?
When I stepped into my brother's apartment, these empty lobster shells were one of the first things I saw and oh was I excited. I had expected a lobster mornay but my brother said he was preparing something even better and you can never go wrong with lobster so I was pretty keen for dinner.
The pan was literally filled with lobster meat $$$
Parmesan, some kind of cheese (i think it's even more parmesan), bread crumbs
And the final product
Looks amazeballs
Also tasted amazeballs
Wanted another drink since I didn't like the champagne which I was offered #trueasian. When I was young I never really wanted to try this since it looked like some kind of herbal Chinese drink. However, I am extremely grateful that I accidentally had a sip of this years ago back in Shanghai because ever since then, this has always been a favourite.
After the lobster entree, we then headed downstairs to the bbq
More food (by this time we were all quite stuffed)
This duck and veal sausage tasted amazing, but apparently it was $20 something dollars for one kilogram which is actually pretty damn expensive (damn you David Jones food court). The other one we all had was an Italian pork sausage which wasn't as good as this one but definitely surpasses your average pork/beef sausage.
The jacuzzi which my brother invited me to come see
He then scared me from behind, making me drop my phone into the water.
Everyone kept asking 'but isn't your phone waterproof though?' Little did they know that I had to switch back to my old phone because my waterproof Xperia Z1 was being glitchy and one day it decided to bomb out on me. The no phone life was hard to endure. Luckily, my Z1 decided to miraculously charge when I got back home (it wouldn't before) so I had some sort of device with me.
Still quite sad that it wasn't a pork roast (brother makes the best pork crackling) but the veal was great too
It's not lighting but the actual water creating gradients on my phone screen. It reminded me of the time I dropped my phone into the toilet in Japan (slipped out of my ass pocket) and how I thought it would never be recovered because I accidentally tried to turn it on before putting it into a bag of rice (shit short circuits and basically your phone dies if you try to turn it on right after)
Christmas presents from the brother! Felt bad for the $2 chocolate and the $1 gold coin hehe but I'm going to make it up by bringing him goodies from Japan. Speaking of which, I'm going to Japan in a month! Actually pretty keen for this long awaited holiday as I've been working my ass off ever since finishing exams.
The Asian recovery life.
