Decided to have another board game night at Dan's with Tristan, Andrew and Julie!
Buddy melts my heart every time.
Before the other three came, Dan and I decided to make our own gourmet pizzas for lunch. Originally we decided to recreate the Gamberi from Eat Love Pizza but I couldn't find the base sauce so we settled for something I used to make all the time in high school. After waiting for a bit, Dan took the first pizza out and we placed it over the sink and suddenly the plate tipped and we could only watch the pizza slide into the sink HAHA (it still tasted great though).
Pho which everyone except for me ordered :(
While waiting for Drewlie, Tristan, Dan and I had two very quick games of Settlers (with the involvement of lots and lots of gummy snakes) and another agonizingly slow game. I think the last one took over an hour to finish the game?! Then we headed to Red River for dinner hehe
Had a chicken corn soup (my absolute love) and I feel like it's now a mission for me to try it out at every restaurant that serves it. They also had a black bean noodle special (it was limited or something) so I decided to give it a go and never will I ever eat jajangmyun from this place again. The noodles were different, the sauce was basically paste and everything just tasted so different from the ones Kobow/Arisun serve crey
Then a few rounds of mahjong happened - Andrew kept winning by playing trash
Since we had over 4 players, we used the extension and this was basically a whole new game I swear to god - Everything was 50 times faster, I had no idea what was going on... Julie and I preferred the normal version but the guys seemed to like it sped up.
Tristan's beautiful post-slap arm
Then for some reason Tristan and I decided to play scissors, paper rock... but with the two finger slap as punishment. Tristan decided to go easy on me (last time he slapped Dan's hand it ended up smelling burnt) but on the last hit, he slapped harder, shit went cray cray and he bursted my capillaries?! It was fun because I was on a winning streak which meant no Tristan slaps but then slapping him also hurt LOL so win-win/lose-lose?
Drewlie!
And then we spent the night sleeping together on a queen size bed. Julie and Andrew gave up during the night because they were on the verge of falling off (I think). I also apparently gave Tristan subtle nut shots during the night (I apologise). Time to be more wary of my sleeping postures!
A new flower in the mini garden! Unfortunately, a few days later the strong winds blew each petal away and I was left with nothing. On the bright side, there's another bud that's blooming!
My biggest sunflower so far hehe
My last work-free Sunday
Trekked it early morning to Hurstville and off to IKEA we went! I have always wanted to try their Swedish meatballs (as there have been so many positive things said about it) and we finally got the chance to try it. By the time we arrived, the breakfast menu was no longer available... even though it wasn't even 11am :( They're probably like McDonald's with their breakfast menus ending at 10:30 sigh. Since a plate of meatballs wasn't enough between the two of us, we ordered nuggets from the kid's menu.
Drove back to Hurstville to figure out whether Dan's phone was unlocked or not as the SIM cards in Japan require an unlocked phone (and Dan had no idea). Of course we had to pay the pet shop a visit first!
Three furballs all on the same seat.
I don't remember what happened later on but we ended the night with Japanese BQQ at Neutral Bay with Dan's family. The amount of ox tongue inhaled and devoured that night was legendary.
