Purchases in Japan
28.2.15
So I was asked to post what I bought during my stay in Japan and how much things costed/prices in general

Found these Tsum Tsum folders at the post office while I was waiting for Dan to ship off his umbrella. Bought these so I could also motivate myself to study harder during this sem at uni (hopefully I do use these though)

THERE'S FOUR OF THEM AND THE PRINTS ARE SO CUTE I COULDN'T RESIST

Bought a diary/schedule from Kiddyland which cost me a limb (~$15) I've actually been using this a bit to jot things down from time to time so I guess it isn't a waste of money yet hehe. Also promised Dan I would use it so I'm trying very hard not to break this promise.

Dan found this at a Family Mart and it's a book with a collection of pictures of insanely cute animals

I think it was around 700 yen but this will definitely brighten me up after a long day. Like if I could, I would take a photo of all the cute animals on each page but there's just way too many and everything is beyond adorable so I'd probably die of a seizure while taking photos of everything.

I bought over 20 of these eggs, these are only the few which I'm going to ration to my friends because I'm a top tomodachi. Last time I went to Japan I spent all my money/a solid 30 minutes with Tom Tom at the Natsume Yujinchou machine and ended with 40 cat chains. Currently in a bunny phase (or animals in general) so a lot of these were hamsters, bunnies, dogs in food (like a dog sandwiched in a taco - sounds cruel I know but it's not treated as food?? poor explanation/10) and gudetama.

I love my stationery so I accidentally bought a Muji pencil case without knowing at Family Mart because I needed a place to put all the excessive amounts of highlighters I bought. Also had a thing for Oji-panda so when I saw the pencil case I had to buy it. It was also quite sad that I bought it during the earlier days of the trip because I came across so many Crayon Shinchan tin pencil cases and really wanted to purchase them but Dan stopped me because I had already bought the Oji-panda one earlier. (It was around $6 I think and I found that a bit expensive)

Dan and I clearly have a bias when it comes to highlighters and its colours - Kenjin kindly gifted one earlier during the first semester and it was very good very swag but sadly it ran out of ink and whenever we asked him to borrow his other one, he would be a jew and say no. Now we no longer have to tolerate his stinginess because we now have several years worth of beautiful purple highlighters.

Didn't actually come across a Muji store while shopping (didn't really target stationery as I thought I would) but I came across a Muji To Go at Kansai airport and did a tiny splurge there with the remaining amount of yen I had on me. These were 84 yen each and after purchasing these, Dan and I only had 550 yen left which we all spent on:

These were 110 yen each so we could buy another 5 to finish off our raid/exactly use up the remaining 550 yen.

Kenjin gave me so much shit for spending my last few dollars on gum but it was #worth in my opinion. This stuff costs on average ~$3 in Australia but only just over a dollar in Japan and it's also very refreshing for a gum. I really wanted to find more mango flavoured one but all the stores we went to sold out so we had to settle for grape/mixed berries (which ofc are still tasty).

Bought skin care products towards the end of the trip because I had a sudden urge to take better care of my skin. SK-II had a 30% sale so instead of paying over $200 for a bottle, I paid ~$145 (and I've never seen an SK-II sale in Australia before so #yolo #splurge). At the airport on our way back I also decided to pick up the Laneige water sleeping pack because Mary had gifted me this during high school and I really liked it but sadly I ran out (and it's overpriced in Sydney zzz). Bioderma because Youtubers seem to rave about this alot and it was much cheaper in Japan compared to online prices.
My brother also asked me to bring back facial cleansers from Clarins but since I'm a top sister, instead of bringing him home just one facial cleanser, I added in a bonus exfoliating scrub.

Bought 2 pairs of Coach shoes because I was on the hunt for something that was 100% leather (sick of this PU/manmade leather bs) and I found a good bargain so I accidentally ended up with two pairs.

Because I couldn't afford anything at the Disney store, I settled for Mickey Mouse printed boxes and folders at Daiso for $1. Thought this was worthy of mentioning because it's quite a cute print. The dilemma of not being able to buy anything from the Disney store was soon solved by a message from Tristan asking if Dan and I wanted anything from America and he ended up getting 10 small Tsum Tsum toys for me so ^__________^ (over the moon). I think I originally asked for like 30 or something but 10 will suffice hehe

I hoard stickers so of course I had to buy 40 sheets more. These are black holes because they seem ok prices (i.e. $2.50 a sheet for the cute ones) but once you buy several at a time you will leave the store with holes in your wallet. Dan also limited me when it came to sticker buying because he knew I would've gone cray cray and come home with 100 sheets of stickers (anything cute I will fall for)

This is probably my favourite set of stickers hehe (the shiba inu is adorable)

Found a new friend for $1 and a cute chair for him (also $1)

Went to the aquarium and purchased this stamp book (~$2.50)

While walking around the aquarium, we realised that there were stamping stations to mark where you've been/what you've seen so we literally finished touring all the fishies, bought the book and went back to the start to retour in an attempt to stamp the entire book hehe

So Dan and I basically went through the 800m+ aquarium twice just for a few stamps (but it was cute so worth)

Etude house - only wanted to buy a cherry lip tint but ended up buying a few things but not the actual lip tint itself. I'm not exactly a make-up person so I didn't really consider purchasing face related in Japan (except for maybe Dollywink eyeliner etc; which I did but I didn't like it). The BB cream came with a free brush, powder cushion and all these samples and I guess when  you're peasant these things make you happier about all the money you've just spent.

This might be the reason why I hate Japan $$$

Bought a cardholder, Bvlgari ring, wallet and a bracelet. The Ferragamo bracelet was actually a purchase from Sydney airport because while waiting for our flight, we found a Ferragamo store but it was closed down? Luckily, we spotted stands in front of the store and it had remaining stock left but all at discounted prices.

One claw grab toppled over the tower of bunnies and I ended up getting 2/3 in one go hehe

Meet Toffee!

Also won a bigger version of Puchi Puchi Pote-usa Roppi! (Basically a Loppy bunny aka a lop earred bunny). Fell in love with this when I saw a post on Otakumode which showed these bunnies but as backpacks and when I saw them all over Japan, I had to get my hands on at least one of them. However, toys are actually quite expensive there so I tried my luck at a claw machine.

One thing I love about these claw machines is that the people will actually help you place the toy closer to the hole so the chances of you getting it increase exponentially. We watched a lady try to get this but after a few goes she went away so Dan and I tried it - she then came back and apparently she was trying to get the guy to place the rabbit closer to the hole so it was technically still her go and we took it from her? We then painfully watched her get the rabbit on the next go (which could've been ours sigh). The guy in return offered us a free go at anything we wanted and I really wanted the bunny... which costed me $10 (i.e. 12 tries later LOL) We exchanged our 500 yen but we got 7 100 yen coins in return because a few were stuck on the magnet and Dan pulled it out. In the end $10 for a big plushie is still worth - I probably would've spent $40+ on something like this. The guy also helped me so much, he basically placed half the rabbit hanging off the hole time after time when I couldn't get it. Was actually over the moon and extremely, extremely thankful towards him. Good karma for him pls

This guy costed me $25 at Kiddyland but I really wanted a panda toy so I gave in and bought him. As childish as this sounds, I have a tendency to name all my toys so I now call him Mochi hehe. He's basically half the size of Toffee but costed twice as much sigh

Bought 2 of these originally at the start for our friends but one of the chemists had a 3 for 500 yen deal (including tax) so by the end of the trip, we had 5 in total. I'm not actually a big fan of these anymore (when you've eaten so many of these before they're just no longer appealing) but I thought my friends would enjoy these so #yolo. Note that most stores sold it for around 220-250 yen so 3 for 500 was a very good offer.

Also splurged on a few more gifts for the closer friends.

Dan and I were choosing who to gift things to and in the end we were kinda grateful that we didn't have many friends/many of them overlapped. Otherwise we would've been bankrupt by the first week.

Considering that it was a three week trip I actually didn't buy a lot (total clothing = less than $300), but the total trip costed us around 4k each (hotel was 1k). On the bright side, we now have most of the lux goods we've wanted so that means no more harsh spending throughout the remaining  year! Clothes were mostly from Uniqlo/GU/Forever 21 but I splurged on a coat at Liz Lisa on the last day (which was probably the only fobby thing I purchased on this trip). Am I the only one who feels weird posting photos of all the clothes I bought on a trip? Like if I were to bump into someone, in my head I'd be like: Lol it's the sweater he/she got from Japan. I don't know, I find that weird/uncomfortable knowing that people know when and where I bought my clothes.
