Saturday 31st

After a day at work, I decided to take Mum, Dad and Dan out to dinner at Nick's Bar and Grill!

Dad ordered a salmon fillet which was quite unusual as he always settled for a steak. Apparently there was nothing special about it and it tasted quite bland. I never understood why people would order fish, you can always make the same/similar thing at home (quote parentals). In this case, not only was it pricey, it wasn't great either :(

Mum had barramundi as usual... and once again, nothing special here either.

Dan's 'Grainge' Scotch Fillet with mushroom sauce (this was okay)

Not sure what I wanted to get so I ended up with the Fisherman's basket

Had a nice stroll home after dinner (perks of living near the Harbour hehe) and tried to finish up packing as Dan was going to take the suitcase back to his place. Long story short, we wanted to save $39 so we're only checking in one luggage worth 20kg so we're putting the smaller suitcase in the larger suitcase and Dan had to take it home because he also needed to pack.  Why can't travelling be more wallet friendly..

Sunday 1st

Met up with the brother for a quick lunch at Ippudo downstairs his place.

Everyone had been raving on and on and on about this and this definitely lived up to all its positive reviews.

Lost my bao zi virginity - according to my brother it was great this time round as the meat wasn't as tender. That's okay though because I shamelessly posted a photo of my ramen on Instagram just for the free bun voucher they were promoting. I hope it's on point next time!

Brother ordered Akamaru

No idea/forgot what mine was called but it was meh - During our meal we were talking about how no one beats Gumshara's tonkotsu broth (and I second that all the way). My brother always attempts to finish the megal bowl but ends up feeling sick/dizzy because the broth is so rich and sticky. Then we headed back to his place and after half an hour of negotiations, he finally let me borrow his Burberry scarf omg. The conditions were to pay for dry cleaning, 3 boxes of Nama Royce Chocolate and some expensive ass ultimate facial cleanser. I guess I rather pay a 'rental feel' than purchase the entire thing for over $700. This guys, is what you call sibling love LOL

Then the adventure to seek the highest exchange rate also begun - everyone was selling JPY at 86-88 and I found a Western Union which offered it at 90 on the dot. Not sure if I was extremely lucky but I ended up stumbling into the convenience store next to Western Union and they offered to provide the best rate - I accidentally kind of bsed and said Western Union was offering 91 and they matched the rate so hooray for me! My brother told me to haggle (because it actually works guys) but I guess accidentally bullshitting also works?

Later during the night we there was another gathering with Sam, Leilei, Debbie, Taiga and John. After Kobow we went to N2 to try the deconstructed matcha frappe and tbh it wasn't that good - the white chocolate chips were also quite annoying to chew on. Shit went crazy by the end of the night and it was so hard to comprehend what was actually happening? Stay strong, chin up - we'll all be here by your side.

By the time this post is published I'd probably be on the plane to Japan!
